A one-fund day turned the product table green. Farside Investors printed a +$7.8 million net inflow into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs on August 11, a thin creation session that only flipped positive because BlackRock’s IBIT added +$50.2 million while several smaller products redeemed. That print follows Monday’s −$144.6 million outflow, which had ended a five-day creation streak of about $865 million. Spot kept easing into the green product day: BTC/USDT on Crypto.com Exchange settled Tuesday at $63,592.62, about $382 under Monday’s $63,974.44 close.

IBIT green, everyone else flat or red

Walk the fund lines, not just the total. On August 11, IBIT was the only large creation print at +$50.2 million. Against that single green column sat Fidelity’s FBTC at −$4.1 million, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB at −$11.5 million, Franklin’s EZBC at −$16.5 million, and VanEck’s HODL at −$10.3 million. Bitwise’s BITB, Invesco, Valkyrie, WisdomTree, Morgan Stanley, and both Grayscale lines printed 0.0. Sum the reds and you get about $42.4 million of redemptions; IBIT’s $50.2 million is what left the complex $7.8 million net positive.

That is a different shape from Monday. On August 10, IBIT, GBTC, FBTC, and BITB all redeemed in the same session, and the aggregate turned −$144.6 million even with Grayscale’s smaller BTC product creating +$37.1 million. Tuesday’s table is the reverse story: one flagship creation line large enough to paper over several modest redemptions, not a broad authorized-participant bid for stock.

Primary-market flow counts authorized-participant creations and redemptions of ETF shares, not every secondary trade on the tape. A +$7.8 million day after a −$144.6 million day is a soft restart of the green count, not a replay of the prior week’s $100 million-plus sessions. Across the seven cash days from August 3 through August 11, the complex is still about $728.5 million net positive ($865.3 million of creations, then −$144.6 million, then +$7.8 million). Farside’s lifetime total across the complex sits near $52.1 billion.

CoinGlass’s Bitcoin ETF flow table tracked the same August 11 session near +122 BTC of net fund inflow, consistent with a small dollar print at mid-$63K coin prices.

Spot settled softer on the green product day

Settled Crypto.com 1D closes map the path into Tuesday’s thin creation print. Friday August 7 closed $64,927.10. The weekend held the mid-$64Ks (Saturday $64,957.80, Sunday $64,897.49). Monday’s outflow session settled $63,974.44. Tuesday then settled $63,592.62, a session that ranged about $63,225–$64,503 before locking another step lower. Relative to Monday, Tuesday closed about 0.6% softer even as the product table flipped green by a few million dollars.

Wednesday’s candle is still forming, and it has already round-tripped. The session opened on Tuesday’s settle, ran up to $64,520.95, then handed the whole move back: as of about 14:35 UTC on August 12, BTC/USDT was last near $63,533 on Crypto.com, a shade under Tuesday’s close, with the day’s range running $63,520–$64,521. That Wednesday mark is intraday on a forming daily candle; the August 12 1D bar does not settle until 00:00 UTC. Ethereum traced the same shape: ETH/USDT settled $1,882.69 on Tuesday after Monday’s $1,873.07, tagged $1,926.59 early Wednesday, and traded near $1,891 at the same snapshot.

A thin product-level creation day and a spot settle that kept sliding under $64,000 are allowed to disagree. Authorized participants can create a little stock while the exchange tape prints a lower daily close; the reverse can also happen on a large inflow week. Tuesday was the quiet version of that split.

Chart: soft spot, softer mood

The series pairs settled daily closes (and Wednesday’s still-forming candle) with the Crypto Fear & Greed Index. Price eased from the high-$64Ks through the Monday outflow and Tuesday’s soft settle, and Wednesday’s intraday mark has barely moved off that low base while the mood gauge slipped further into Fear.

BTC price vs the Crypto Fear & Greed Index, August 5–August 12. Wednesday tagged $64.5K and gave it back, leaving the intraday mark roughly flat to Tuesday’s settle while sentiment slipped to 27 (Fear). The August 12 point is an intraday read as of ~14:35 UTC, not a settled close. Sources: Crypto.com Exchange 1D candles and alternative.me.

The composite sat at 30 (Fear) on Monday, 29 on Tuesday, and 27 (still Fear) on August 12, per alternative.me. That is a slow grind lower through the week’s product swing, not a panic reset into Extreme Fear and not a relief bounce. The five green sessions earlier in August ran with the gauge stuck between 25 and 29 — Extreme Fear on two of those days — so the streak never bought a sentiment turn; the Monday flush and Tuesday’s thin creation day then arrived with mood still pinned in Fear.

For a newcomer: primary-market ETF flow is the authorized-participant pipe into the listed products. Spot is the exchange tape. Fear & Greed is a daily composite of volatility, volume, social chatter, and other inputs. A +$7.8 million creation day led by one fund, a Tuesday settle near $63,593, and a Fear reading still in the high 20s is a book that reopened green at the product level without a sentiment turn.

What the thin green line does and does not settle

The fixed facts until the next cash session hits Farside’s table: five green days, about $865 million of net creations for that stretch, a Monday −$144.6 million redemption that ended the streak, and a Tuesday +$7.8 million restart carried almost entirely by IBIT. Spot settled softer on that thin green day, and Wednesday’s still-open candle has tried $64,500 and given it back, leaving BTC roughly flat to Tuesday’s close. A broader creation day would re-widen the product bid; a second redemption day would erase Tuesday’s small green mark. Neither outcome is priced here. This is a description of what printed and what the tape has done since, not a forecast and not financial advice.
