Open Standard launched Open USD (OUSD), a dollar stablecoin, on September 30, 2026. Businesses can begin with BVNK, Stripe, and the Visa Stablecoin Platform from that day, and Coinbase business access is scheduled to begin October 1, the company said in its [launch post](https://joinopenstandard.com/blog/ousd-is-live/).

The July 16 [Visa Stablecoin Platform beta](/en/posts/2026-07-18-visa-stablecoin-platform-open-usd/) shipped before this general launch. On June 30, Open Standard [introduced Open USD](https://joinopenstandard.com/blog/introducing-open-usd/) and said the token would be live later in the year.

## Four paths, one conversion rate

The launch post names four integration paths: Coinbase, Mastercard, Stripe, and Visa. On each path, Open Standard says, businesses can mint and burn at a 1:1 USD conversion rate, at no cost, as [PYMNTS](https://www.pymnts.com/cryptocurrency/2026/payment-giants-launch-open-usd-stablecoin-to-kill-conversion-fees/) reported on September 30. The [integration page](https://joinopenstandard.com/integrate/) says every option supports mint and burn with 1:1 USD parity, at no cost, and that account setup happens with the provider you choose.

The page assigns different jobs to each name. Stripe, with Bridge and Privy, covers virtual accounts, payment orchestration, buy and sell or swaps, on- and off-ramps, wallets, cards, and foreign exchange. Mastercard offers API or portal access for buy and sell or swaps, sending and receiving, settlement, and wallets. Coinbase lists 1:1 conversions, wallets, payment orchestration, on- and off-ramps, trading, custody, and financing. Visa points to programmable APIs on the Visa Stablecoin Platform for buy and sell or swaps, on- and off-ramps, wallets, and settlement.

[Stripe's September 30 newsroom note](https://stripe.com/newsroom/news/ousd-is-now-available-on-stripe) says OUSD is available to businesses running on Stripe, in addition to the stablecoins Stripe already offers. Stripe separates the charges. Conversion between dollars and OUSD is at no cost. In place of variable mint and burn fees, Open Standard charges a small, predictable transaction fee. The launch post does not publish the size of that fee.

Rewards are separate from minting. Open Standard says partners earn rewards proportional to the supply and activity they drive on their platforms, and that they have the opportunity to earn equity in Open Standard. The integration page says a business signs up as a partner to earn those rewards. Stripe says businesses that choose to become partners earn rewards for adopting OUSD and transacting with it. Stripe says Ramp plans to use Stripe for stablecoin accounts that will let Ramp customers hold OUSD balances, earn rewards, and send money anywhere in the world, 24/7.

## Where the token runs

The launch post says OUSD will be supported natively on Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo, and will be available on centralized and decentralized venues starting with Coinbase, Kraken, and Uniswap, with more venues over time.

These are the official contract addresses in the launch post. Compare them before you move any tokens. A similar address is a different asset.

Access follows the partner's rules. The integration page says Open USD is available from partners globally, subject to [geo restrictions and prohibited use cases](https://joinopenstandard.com/legal/geo-restrictions-and-prohibited-use-cases), and that access through a third-party platform follows that provider's terms, eligibility, and geographic limits. The issuer named on that page is Bridge Building Inc.

## Reserves, supply, and the liquidity pledge

The launch post says OUSD is issued by Bridge, a Stripe company, with reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY. Open Standard says reserve attestations will be published monthly at [reserves.bridge.xyz/ousd](https://reserves.bridge.xyz/ousd), a public page that already shows real-time reserve and supply data.

As of October 1, 2026, 9:10 AM UTC, the page showed an OUSD total supply in circulation of 468,445,395 and reserve assets of $468,445,395, labeled 100.00% collateralized. It listed $257,214,688 cash (54.9%) and $211,230,708 in Treasuries (45.1%), which the page describes as money-market funds of T-bill ladders with less than 3-month duration.

Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa, the first five founding partners, each received an equal initial equity stake, and together they have committed more than $1 billion to establish OUSD liquidity over the coming months, [CoinDesk](https://www.coindesk.com/business/2026/09/24/open-usd-takes-on-tether-circle-with-a-different-stablecoin-model-that-s-building-money) reported in a story updated September 30. [Stripe](https://stripe.com/newsroom/news/ousd-is-now-available-on-stripe) also says those five founded Open Standard. The size of each firm's investment and equity stake was not disclosed. [CryptoBriefing](https://cryptobriefing.com/open-standard-ousd-stablecoin-coinbase-stripe-visa-mastercard/) reported the same pledge.

Open Standard says partners now include over 200 financial institutions, fintechs, banks, and global businesses, up from over 140 businesses in June.

Chainlink said on September 30 that Open Standard had standardized on Chainlink as an official data oracle for OUSD, [crypto.news](https://crypto.news/chainlink-powers-data-for-new-open-usd-stablecoin/) reported.

## What to recheck

Coinbase access was scheduled for October 1. The Bridge reserves page is the public snapshot of supply and reserve assets, and the contract address is the check before a transfer. OUSD is a liability of its issuer, so holding it means relying on Bridge and on the institutions that keep the reserves.

This describes the launch. It is not a recommendation to mint, hold, or avoid OUSD.
